The Soul Behind the Sound

For LEILA, music isn't manufactured - it is unearthed. Every chord progression is a reflection of quiet nights spent translating complex emotions into melodies that breathe. Her journey began not in polished studios, but in the raw resonance of an acoustic guitar and a notebook filled with scratched-out thoughts.

It is this dedication to unvarnished storytelling that makes her sound so intimately familiar. When Leila sings, she isn't performing for an audience; she is inviting you into her living room, offering a piece of her soul in exchange for a moment of shared humanity.

ORIGINS

Leila is a Lebanese born artist raised in Beirut and currently based in California. Drawing from her Middle Eastern roots, along with influences from the orient and spiritual medicine music, she weaves her own journey into relatable lyrics that speak to the heart. As a deep lover of nature, the elements, and the spiritual forces that guide our path, Leila's music reminds us to connect to our truest essence.

Leila’s lyrics guide us back home to ourselves. Her songs are a celebration of life, the joys and challenges of the human experience, as well as a profound connection to the relationships we have with the plants, elements, and nature. Although her journey with music began somewhat recently in 2020 through her vocal offerings in sacred medicine circles, she has rapidly birthed an extensive repertoire of songs that explore various musical genres and topics. Her vocal and creative range combined with playful yet philosophical lyrics speak to a wide audience.

Her first album, “Elemental Alchemy” is an ode to the elements and are the type of songs you want to share with your children. “Be the Flow” was Leila’s first song and is often shared in song circles and one of her most popular songs.

Her second album, “From East to West” dives into a more serious exploration of her own healing journey particularly the cultural weaving of her Lebanese heritage through the incorporation of Arabic in most of the songs. One of the most widely praised songs on this album, “Call to Prayer” reflects the impact of this ancient prayer when given a fresh voice and modern interpretation.

One of Leila’s most recent singles, “Green Tara Mantra” is her first collaboration with Luke Rain that has quickly gained recognition on Spotify with over 19k listens. A simple, yet accessible version of a well-known devotional song that is sure to have you singing along.

Leila is currently working on her third album with a few singles already released. “Fly Wild” is easily the most inspirational song that stands out with its more eclectic and groovy vibe.

Outside of recording or sharing music in sacred circles, Leila loves to offer vocal activation workshops and plant song circles as a way to inspire others to find their own vocal and creative expression.

Sing to the Plants That Sing Through You Join us for an evening of song, cacao, and sacred connection as we honor the Plantcestors who have guided and transformed our lives. Together, we will journey with cacao, rose, and tobacco-plant allies that open the heart, soften the spirit, and offer grounding and protection-while exploring the voice as a powerful instrument of healing, prayer, and self-expression. Through guided vocal activation, sound, movement, and breath, we will awaken the creative force within, open the throat center, and deepen into intuition, resonance, and authentic expression. We will explore Spirit Language, remembering the language beyond words and awakening the voice as a channel for creative flow, revelation, and connection. The songs are simple, intuitive, and open to all voices. We will close with a creative offering and an opportunity to write a song for a plant ally that holds special meaning in your life. Making music from scratch is a soulful endeavor often involving time, sweat, a trickle or tsunami of emotions likely involving tears, lived experiences, and soul. Something that AI can only extract and synthesize from but never truly replicate. In a world where we have no sense of what is authentic anymore, it is important to invest in what is REAL. It is more imperative than ever to devote our valuable energy to connections and relationships that truly matter because those are circular pathways of reciprocity that will continue to nourish us as well.
